"Top Tips for Getting Ready for Your Next PMU Appointment"

Pre-Appointment Guidelines'


Here are some pre-appointment instructions that apply to all PMU services, regardless of the specific procedure:


1.Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of bleeding during the procedure.

2. Avoid taking blood-thinning medications, such as aspirin or ibuprofen, for at least 24-48 hours before the appointment to reduce the risk of bleeding.

3. Avoid caffeine for at least 24 hours before the appointment to reduce sensitivity and discomfort during the procedure.

4. Avoid sun exposure for at least 24 hours before the appointment to reduce skin sensitivity and potential complications.

5. If you have any medical conditions or are taking any medications, inform your PMU artist before the appointment.

6. If you have a history of allergic reactions to PMU or topical numbing creams, inform your PMU artist before the appointment.

7. If you have any concerns or questions about the procedure, do not hesitate to ask your PMU artist.



It's important to follow your PMU artist's specific pre-appointment instructions to ensure the best results and reduce the risk of complications.


Below are the specific pre-appointment instructions that apply to each individual PMU service, in addition to the general instructions:

1. PMU Brows:

 

Avoid tweezing, waxing, or threading the eyebrow area at least a week before the appointment to avoid irritation and redness.

If you regularly get facials, peels, or other skincare treatments, it's best to avoid them at least two weeks before the appointment to avoid sensitivity and irritation in the brow area.

Avoid using any exfoliating or retinol-based skincare products on the brow area at least a week before the appointment.

If you are prone to cold sores, take antiviral medication before the appointment to prevent an outbreak.

2. PMU Lips Blush:

 

Avoid getting any lip injections or other lip procedures for at least two weeks before the appointment.

If you have a history of cold sores or herpes outbreaks around the mouth or lip area, take antiviral medication before the appointment to prevent an outbreak.

Avoid using any exfoliating or retinol-based skincare products on the lip area at least a week before the appointment.

​ 3. Saline Tattoo Removal:

 

Avoid sun exposure or tanning for at least a week before the appointment to avoid skin sensitivity and complications during the procedure.

Avoid using any skincare products on the tattooed area at least 24 hours before the appointment.

Inform your specialist of any changes in medical history or medication usage.

It is also recommended to avoid consuming any blood-thinning medications for at least a week before the appointment.
